Top-floor corner suites with three exposures don’t come up often in Mount Pleasant.

This one is the penthouse at Metrovista — a 2-bed-plus-den, 2-bath home two blocks off Main. North, east, and south exposures mean city and mountain views from every room, and the balcony catches all of it. On a clear day, you can follow the North Shore line out toward Golden Ears.

Inside

It’s 935 square feet, with two bedrooms, a den, and two full baths. The layout works: living and dining open onto each other, with floor-to-ceiling glass framing the view. There’s room for a proper dining table.

The kitchen was tastefully renovated and is genuinely set up for cooking. Quartz counters, a sage porcelain backsplash, induction range, full LG appliance package. The induction range, in particular, is one of those upgrades you don’t fully appreciate until you’ve cooked on one — water boils in seconds.

Out on the balcony, custom built-in seating wraps around the space. It’s a real outdoor room, set up for barbecues and lazy summer evenings rather than just somewhere to put a single chair.

Both bedrooms are well-proportioned, with custom built-in closets that make a noticeable difference to how the suite lives day to day. The den is a real flex space — works as a home office, guest room, or quiet corner. Storage is generous throughout.

A few recent updates worth noting: laminate, carpet, and blinds were refreshed in 2022, window screens were added in 2023, and the appliance package is near-new. One parking stall and one storage locker come with the suite.

The building

Metrovista is a 107-unit, 9-storey concrete-and-brick building built in 1996. It’s solid, well-run, and well-maintained — the kind of place you can settle into without worrying about what’s around the corner. The gym was updated in 2024, and there’s a workshop on-site for projects and tinkering, which is a feature you almost never see in a condo building.

Strata fees are $636.57 a month and include a lot — electricity, heat, hot water, water, garbage, snow removal, and management. Worth flagging because the all-in cost of ownership is lower than the fee suggests on its own.

Pets are welcome (up to two, cats or dogs). Rentals are permitted with some restrictions.

The neighbourhood

Mount Pleasant has become one of the most-talked-about pockets in the city, and it’s earned the attention. From the front door of Metrovista, you’re a couple of blocks from Main Street’s run of cafés, restaurants, bakeries, and independent shops. The Sunday farmers’ market at Dude Chilling Park is walking distance. Cream Pony — for the uninitiated, the doughnuts and fried chicken spot people line up for — is right there too. Transit is at the door.

It’s a neighbourhood that has the energy of a city centre but still feels like somewhere people live, not just somewhere people visit.
